BECAUSE WATER IS LIFE, the Xeriscape Council of New Mexico (XCNM) strives to bring together landscape professionals involved in design, and construction and management companies, homeowners, farmers, artists, business people, teachers, hydrologists, ranchers, climatologists, wildlife advocates, and policy makers to find equitable ways to share
our state’s water.
Council members are experts on water conservation, the use of native and arid-adapted plants, rainwater harvesting, utilization of low impact/recycled building materials and landscaping/irrigation methods.
Our primary goal is to educate the public about resource conservation and best practices for improving local landscapes.
Council Projects
The Xeriscape Council of New Mexico is project and education oriented. Our primary project is an annual conference–the Land&Water Summit. The Summit focuses on water, people, and their connections to the landscape. Every spring, the Council brings globally-recognized experts and local speakers together for a two-day conference. Check our website for upcoming speakers and themes.
Additional projects vary from year to year depending on need and financing. Please see our website for more projects.
Sponsors
The Xeriscape Council of New Mexico is grateful to the many sponsors who have contributed to the major events we have hosted since 1986. These events were made possible by the generosity of local businesses, private donations, and grants.
We welcome new contributors who support our efforts to raise community awareness around the importance of water in all our lives. Event sponsors are acknowledged on our website and in program materials.
